Mezzo Soprano, Chloe Harris has graduated with first class honours from the Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) majoring in performance. She will be continuing her training in the Masters of Music Opera Performance course in 2019, under the tutelage of Roxane Hislop.
In 2018 Chloe was awarded The Opera Foundation for young Australians Dalwood-Wylie American Institute of Musical Studies Award. She also participated in the AIMS Summer School in Graz, Austria, as a result of winning the AIMS Sundell Study Award as well as subsequent study in Vienna.
Chloe has been awarded during her years at the Conservatorium of Music with the Mona McCaughey - The Elise Weiderman scholarship, Murray Ormond Vagg scholarship, Muriel Cheek scholarship and Walter Kirby scholarship. She was also the recipient of the Sleath Lowrey Scholarship for 2017.
Chloe was an Acclaim Awards finalist for 2017 and 2018, taking part in Masterclasses with Italian soprano Valeria Esposito. In 2018, she work-shopped excerpts of Dorabella with Lyric Opera of Melbourne's Director Workshops. Chloe has been a part of the Opera Scholars Australia program for 2 years, and a recipient of the Peter and Melissa Hebbard Scholarship. She performed a winning aria at Opera in the Alps 2019 and was selected as the Scholar of the Year for the 2019 season. She played the role of ‘Nancy’ in The Conservatorium of Music March 2019 production, Albert Herring. Chloe will be performing with Victorian Opera in their 2019 production, ‘Alice through the Opera Glass’ later this year.
