Following the huge success of Opera in the Market in 2007, Australian Music Events and The Royal Melbourne Hospital have great pleasure in presenting this prestigious event in 2008.

Opera in the Market is a truly Melbourne event – fine food and wine, the finest music and outstanding hospitality - all staged in the iconic Queen Victoria Market.

Opera in the Market is the major public event on The Royal Melbourne Hospital calendar, and is staged to raise funds for crucial medical research.

Opera in the Market offers patrons a chance to hear some of Australia's leading artists including Taryn Fiebig, fresh from singing the role of Mabel in Opera Australia's outstanding production of Pirates of Penzance. She will be joined by Roy Best and international flautist, Jane Rutter along with the 130 voice choir and 65 piece orchestra, with special guest Michael Long The magical transformation of the iconic Queen Victoria Market into an opera house with fine food and wine stalls is an experience not to be missed. Mouth watering hampers by Epicure Catering can also be pre-purchased with your ticket booking.
